What can I expect from you as my Health and Happiness Coach? 

I will listen and learn about your life and your obstacles to meeting your expectations for your own health and happiness. Together we will set goals and during our workout sessions we will discuss your progress.

What can I expect during our deep dive meeting? 

You can expect to download a snapshot of your life and answer a few key questions so I know how to best help you begin your transformation. We will review your on-boarding packet which includes a medical questionnaire, body fat measurement, circumference measurements, weigh-in, goal setting, review of current medical situation, doctors, meds, assess preventative appointments and create a plan/checklist/appointments for current needs.

Why is health coaching a thing? 

Health coaching is a thing because people are more successful when they have someone who can track and manage all aspects of health rather than one piece. I consider myself an advocate and guide for your overall success versus focusing solely on your workout results. Most of us want more out of life than reaching a goal weight- we want to feel our best and live happier.

What is your background? 

With regard to health, I have been guiding health and nutrition as a personal trainer for over 20 years. I have a support system for my clients like no other that include a gym, a smoothie business and a community for women. 

With regard to happiness, I was fortunate to face many unique challenges at a young age that sent me to therapy. The combination of a therapist as a guide and sports participation taught me to feel empowered and independent. I am passionate about paying that forward. We will disarm shame gremlins, answer tough questions and look at your life in a way that focuses on creating solutions.

how is this different from personal training? 

Personal training is when a professional guides you through a series of exercises over time and in order to reach certain body focused goal(s). Coaching is a partnership where we look at all the factors affecting your health. This can extend to a diet plan, grocery list, doctor’s appointments you’re missing, accountability outside of training sessions, reworking your schedule to find time for yourself AND your career AND your family. Often, the planning affects the lives around you and we work to make sure that your plan is achievable with those factors also functioning effectively.

how long do people work with a health coach? 

Most people start with 3 months, which allows enough time for trial and error and for your recurring challenges to resurface. You want a window of time that accurately represents your life and goes beyond the length of time you usually bail on your diets, workout plans, and resolutions.
